The creator has revised this popular experiential workbook by adding Carl Jung and Karen Horney to his cast of major personality theorists – Freud, Adler, Erikson, Bandura, Allport, Maslow and Rogers – who give you the context within which students explore aspects of their very own private experience. In a focused and disciplined way, through carefully developed exercises, projects, and group activities, students are given the means to relate abstract theories and concepts to their very own personality development and experience. The exercises have been devised to draw students’ thoughtful attention. Many of them take care of private aspects of students’ lives and are designed to be completed personally out of the study room and reviewed by the instructor on my own. There are also some classroom exercises that involve working with peers in small-group discussions. These latter activities draw upon the ones personal experiences that most students are captivated with sharing.
